Figure 6 shows the key players in the heavy-duty trucking business model. The current logistics chain is dependent on several different, clearly distinct market players such as the tier suppliers, the truck OEMs, the logistics providers, or carriers that own the truck fleet and organize the shipping of goods, to the retailers and finally to the end consumers. Each entity largely owns its own inventory and adds value by creating finished product/service down that are passed down the value chain.
